Oh sun, will you never come back? We've been (im)patiently waiting for you for weeks now, won't you throw us a bone? Pretty please? With a polka dot bikini on top?
I don't know about you, but I am sick to death of dark, grey, and wet skies. We've had 2 solid weeks of it and I'm about ready to committ myself to the nice men in white jackets, I tell ya what (said in best Hank Hill voice). How do people in Seattle put up with it? I'm not a sunshine and rainbows type of person as a general rule but boy oh boy what I wouldn't give for a sunny day right now.
Some bright and sunny news though, I've officially lost 15 pounds now! Woo hoo! I don't know if I'll lose enough in time to don a little polka dot bikini this summer but there's always summer of 2011 to look forward to, lol. I can't believe I've been able to stay committed for this long, so the fact that I have is heartening. I've never actually lost weight before. True! I've had several half-hearted attempts at losing weight but would always quit before the numbers on the scale went down. Seeing real results is keeping me motivated right now. 45 more pounds to go!
Have a fun St. Patrick's Day this Wednesday, and don't forget to wear your green!
Great job on the weight loss, I admire your commitment.
ReplyDeleteHooray! I can understand the sticking with it thing. 3 years ago I started riding an exercise bike not really to lose weight but to get stronger. Surprisingly 3 years later Im still at it and bought an extra small sized dress at old navy yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe acronym for Seasonal Affective Disorder had to be intentional, right? But, my favorite times of year are when the extremes begin to fade (early spring and early fall).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the diet/exercise/or whatever you're doing.
James: Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSassyGinger: The exercising part has been the hardest to stick with but I've gotten to a point where I feel guilty if I skip a day. Who'd a thunk it?
Straight Guy: No kidding, everyone around here is desperate to see sun. Thanks for stopping by!
I totally hear you on the weather: we had months of snow and now a week of rain! I need some sunshine!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss! That's brilliant!
LOL good for you for feeling guilty if you skip a day. Part of my success is that I give myself breaks. I dont ride on the weekends or on holidays. But Monday through Friday Im on that bike!
ReplyDeleteI feel you, i'm ready for a bit of sunshine too (not too much though, i hate the summer!) We've been getting a teeny peek of the sun and then it goes into hiding again :(
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss! I seem to have reached a plateau at the moment which is annoying. Keep it up!
x
That's awesome, congrats on the weight loss! I hope the sun comes out for you soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat news, Gingerella!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the progress...it is very tough, but worth the reward! Summer is around the bend... why isn't it 'SUNner'? oof...
Winter is tough to get motivated...can't get out to do stuff... I am not an 'advocate' of evolution, but I am pretty convinced the body is primed to 'store fat' in winter months, not unlike 'hibernation mode'...
oh, ps - just wondering if you ever got cookin with the 'Gorg'... hopefully so - I have been a bit out of pocket the last week or so, but trying to catch up! Any questions or anything, feel free to send them my way!

I hear you on the winter blahs. I celebrate getting through to daylight savings time. Without killing anyone. It's an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss. Not that you aren't perfect just as you are, but I admire your discipline.
Hey, just wanted to let you know I passed on the Sugar Doll award to you!
ReplyDeleteCherryRed: Aww, thank you! I'll be over shortly. :)
ReplyDeleteVKMFan: Argh, I haven't had time to do ANYTHING online lately so no, haven't been able to play with the G. Will have to find some time on a weekend to explore.
Congratulations on the weight loss. Wooot!
ReplyDeleteToday was sunny, finally!
Just checking in to make sure you are okay...
